I agree that he is acknowledging people who emotionally rely on songs, which I don't think he would ever make fun of, but I think that the song is making fun of the titles that people put on their own music, or that others put on certain music. Some have good messages, some of have terrible messages, some help you through terrible times in your life and others are hyped up way too much when they're not worth the time. To one person, it could mean a good time, to another it could mean life.

It sort of seems sarcastic, like he's making fun of the people, but I think it's more the point that relationships with other people can be more powerful than something like a song or a book, etc. That's how I'm taking it.

The message I get from this song is, he's acknowledging people who rely on music to get by emotionally, who rely on music for everything good in their life. I think it's either a sincere acknowledgement of how great music is, or he could be making fun of people who rely on music like that; but that doesn't sound like him. Just my thoughts.
