Think about it. Infinite chances to retry it in the studio with perfect sound and ways to make yourself sound better. When it's live, you can't really change anything around and any mistakes are heard. The screaming is still good regardless, I think.

It's hardly surprising. Can you imagine trying to scream full pelt like that every night at the age of 36? If he did that he'd blow his voice out and then the end dates of the tour would be cancelled cause he'd never make it that far. He does it so he can still perform towards the end of tours as well. He can still scream like hell when he wants but not when on tour as that would just be a silly amount of strain on his voice.
