I think what some folks are implying is not that they should always sound the same. But each band is known for a style that is their own. While i like most of this album....its not linkin park. The "uniqueness" that you hear and say "thats linkin park" just isnt here in this album. They strayed very far from what they "are/were" and folks are as impressed as others with the shift in the expression of their art. I for one miss the earlier sounds.

This is one of the few albums I like to listen to as a whole. It's cool how it has the same themes running all the way through, and I like that they've broken away from the verse/chorus/repeat x4 structure that everyone else is using these days. It feels like the music follows its own natural progression instead of just being repetitive.

I first HATED this album like I HATED reanimation but over time it grew on me. Sure it doesn't sound like the same old thing they did before but if they did they'd just be another Nickelback...do we REALLY want another group out there like that?
