I had never heard this version. I think it is MUCH better than Kathy Young's. Maybe it was the recording equipment, but Kathy seemed to sing at least one key flat throughout the song.

Even Kathy Young's is not the original. The original was by The Rivileers a black R&B Doo Wop(sp?) vocal group. But I would say Kathy's was better, and this one by Linda being the best of all. Though it's not a whole lot different from Kathy's, I like the orchestration better in this recording by Linda. Really, I like all 3 versions that I mentioned, but this one wins by a mile and a half.

The cover of kathy Youngs December 1960 release? Even though I like Kathys version better Linda doe's a good job on Thousand Stars! They both have beautiful voices for sure.

Actually the original was not by the wonderful Kathy Young, but a slow and greasy bluesy version by the Rivileers from 1953. :)
