Fantastic voice and delivery. Brings this great Tom Petty tune to another place. No wonder songwriters would crawl through barbed wire to have her wrap that gift of a voice around their tunes.

She was so magnificent as a singer. Linda lives on but her singing voice has been silenced forever by Parkinson's disease. We only have her recorded voice now; on vinyl, on CD and on video.

Saw her when she opened for Neil Young in 1972 when he was touring in support of "Harvest." I went to see and hear Neil, but I fell in love with Linda. That voice! Nothing like it in the world.

Rolling Stone loved her in the 70s; featured sexily alongside her Manager, Peter Asher but not only has she aged and (whisper it) put on weight, she has stayed true to the music she wants to make (as a fan, I have not always liked her choices - I wanted the rock queen and she moved on) Maybe they are struggling to love her now but she should be there.

Yes, the waiting is the hardest part. Hopefully, Linda won't have to wait to long to get the recognition that is due to her!

I haven't been able to get enough Linda since the sad news. I've just been watching these old videos over and over.

Rolling Stone liked her when she was young and pretty - would feature her whenever possible. Now, what can I say, she has committed the crime of getting older and, oh dear, fatter. She should be in the Hall of Fame and all that but my guess is she would not want it. All that ridiculous maw-mawing and thanking everyone including your cat and dog, She just seems too sensible. She has retreated from public life and I wish her well in that.
