The sing is too short. Just repeating the first verse would easily work.

Linda was changing her style by 1980, trying to branch out and she knew musical tastes were changing. I remember not being happy at the time about her cutting her long hair, and not sure how I felt about this music either. As a much older man, I now appreciate it. But then she could sing nursery rhymes and I would listen.

Billboard's #68 song of the '80 survey year. Linda hit #10 in Billboard, 3-22-80. God bless you, friend, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed New Year!

From MAD LOVE. Although it was a multi platinum album it remains an under appreciated rock and roll gem. Sure she took that voice to other places soon after this but here she is still giving us some great female rock.

Great song ! But why does remind me of Pat Benatar ? The hair? The striped top ?

I was a naval officer for 25 years, and on my first deployment to the Northern Arabian Sea in 1980, I had one of the early Sony Walkman and the cassette version of "Mad Love." I listened to that thing every day. I always loved Linda, but this was a turn off of her well trodden folk/country/rock path, and a welcome one. The thing is, I had no idea any videos of her performing songs from that record even existed until now. In those days, there was no satellite (those were used for spying on the Rooskies and critical communications, not watching MTV ;) ), internet or anything. We were lucky if we got snail mail every couple of weeks. So whole chunks of music video a lot of you were watching was denied to me and my shipmates . . . until now. Better late than never folks! :)

i remember when this came out, seemed like an attempt to appeal to a punk/new wave audience. still a good song.
