Linda Ronstadt is still the best there is, and sometimes someone like Trisha Yearwood or Martina McBride do one of her standards justice, but Knowone Comes Close to her impecable tonal qualitis, on every note with her tender verbrotto, that never over did it ; I PRAY that bands in California find it within their hearts to croon under her window and make her smile ( Great Is The One WHO Can Get Her To Laugh Through Some Of Her Pain; She Sure Bared The Brunt in a Lifetime of Singing To Us / God Bless You And Keep You Linda and I Hope You Have Love Sacredly Surrounding YOU !!! ) X OO "Teen Angle & MOOSE...

There was something special about LR s performance at the Beacon when she did ' Heart..... ' From the ' Stone Pony ' girl to an awesome songstress , she is truly a legend. This song was favourite of mine sung by Kate and Anna ( authors ) , so if this is a cover its a fabulous one

Love the Offenbach concert and this is one of my favorite songs. If I could sing like anyone, I'd sing like Linda.

A true classic. I am old enough to remember these days, and they were great. No matter what happens from now on, she has left us with some wonderful songs.

In my head Linda is as she is here - a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice wearing pretty but ordinary clothes. There were no male dancers pandering to her ego and no over the top stage effects; just her and her talented musicians and here Kenny (I think) harmonising. It is heart-breaking that she is now so ill and will never record or tour again. She was different.

Sad about the news that she has Parkinson's and her singing is silenced :(

I sometimes forget this is a McGarrigle song. They were my sister's favourites and she died two years ago a little after her idol, Kate. This is very beautiful; their lyrics and music combined with Linda's vocals. It is a little emotional for me but I know the sisters totally approved of Linda singing their songs and Linda totally did them justice.

I do love this concert. As someone said, she looks like she gets up in the morning and combs her own hair and chooses her own clothes and then just sings - and does she sing! She is sweet here with a great band. I am a woman so I don't fancy her but I can imagine most men would and she needs no tricks - a la Lady Gaga, Madonna, Taylor swift etc. I miss those singers from my youth - I am sure there must be great talent out there (my son assures me) but it is not evident to me.

It is a beautiful song and I salute the song writers (my late sister's favourites) but Linda can do more than justice to any song she chooses to sing and she does here.

I must agree with you regarding the merits of this beautiful, and wonderfully sung composition. That said, labels in our society are so consistently misused that one must lament this sad state of affairs at least every now and then... my main background is science, where descriptive terms are very precise, even to the point of being "operationally defined" in a given context. While i realize this isn't possible or even desirable in everyday English, it would be nice if terms were used properly.
