The term "brony" is less of a recognition of fandom between other "Bronys" and more of a way for normal people to distinguish and separate themselves from bronys. The fact that a 16 year old male is a fan of a cartoon made for little girls, about talking magical equine is more then enough for your intelligence, sexuality, and current monetary status to be brought into question.
