Les Elgart and his boys take us back to the 'dancing days' of the fifties and sixties with this softly swingin' version of "Do you ever think of me ?". Having been published in 1920, the song soon was performed by an array of famous artists, "the" most famous no doubt being Bing Crosby. Here, Les Elgart, often referred to as "the band with that sound", gets everyone on the dance floor with "that sound". But what is it, that makes the "Elgart sound" different from other bands ? That's quite difficult to pinpoint but the crisp sound of the saxophones definitely is one of the major ingredients.
If you wouldn't have enough space to have that "cheek to cheek" moment with your loved one ..... don't be disappointed : this music can be "just listened to" as well ;-))
From the 1960 album "The Band with That Sound" here are Les Elgart and his Band with "Do you ever think of me". Happy dancing (or listening) !
