R.I.P. Bob Johnston, my daughter's grandpa on her dad's side. He's the one who the one who took over this song about halfway through it. He was the original producer of Leonard Cohen's albums. He passed away on August 14, 1015 from natural causes. There are articles about it all over the web in remembrance of him, including Rolling Stone & Variety. He will be sorely missed. His family is hoping to start up a scholarship in his name to fund up & coming artists in their careers.

Watched this many times and can't get enough. Cohen is one if the best poets/songwriters of our time. Bob Johnston steals the show here though.

Must be Jennifer Warnes singing along. Her Famous Blue Raincoat album made Leonard Cohen cool and save his career - and probably his life.

I think by hearing such a beautiful version of his own tune, Leonard was able to deal with the overall bad vibes of the concert...this is very touching footage, and you can feel and see the healing that is overtaking everyone. I would love to have a studio recording of this song done this way, but I don't think it was meant to be that way. Thanks for sharing this.
