Two great Balladeers - one a talented "young blood" and the other an absolute Aussie Legend.

This is beautiful song was written and originally recorded by Trevor Knight.

Don't let it bother you, I get that warning all the time on videos I post. And I can tell you 100% that the same warnings have occassionally come up on LK's own Youtube account against his own videoclips....

This video has been flaged by Youtube as being in breach of copyright.....go figure.. Every video on my channel was done, either as support of Australian Country Music and/or a historic example of the same....I make no money from them... and where applicable...I note where the CD can be purchased....I am hardly in breech of copyright as such.

Respond to this video...Will do for sure.... The Man from Snowy River is the best piece of descriptive Aussie poetry ever written in my opinion.... I'd like to see the statue of Jack. I have been looking up info on the area... looks good.... Cheers

@pyrofella Make sure you stop in Corryong too ... Jack Riley (THE Man From Snowy River) is buried in the Corryong Cemetery and they have a statue erected in memorial of him beside the Information Centre in the main street.

Just come home from a trip down south .... and we drove from west to east over the Snowy Mountains through Corryong, stopping to have lunch at Khancoban, down to Tom Groggin and on to Thredbo and Jindabyne ... I've always loved this song, but it means more to me, now that I've seen where they're singing about

My good friend Mel Sommers here in Newcastle, was good friends with old Smokey and Dot through which shone the light of his life... I wish I could have met old Smokey, he seemed like a character... I'm recording a couple of his songs coming up in an album with Rod McCormack, hope it does him justice :-)... This is a fantastic songs also, well done!!

In 1989 Smoky and I recorded the original version of this song.. and we won our first Golden Guitar with it. It take me back to the days of my youth as a stockman in Tom Groggin Station down the Alpine Way from Khancoban. Smoky was my friend and mentor, he was one of the finest writers of evocative bush verse .. the real McCoy. I have recorded my own version and tribute to Smoky and,, our days in old Khancoban!
