On this day in 1959 {August 12th} Lavern Baker performed "So High, So Low" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand... Two weeks earlier on July 27th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #52 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100... She also performed the B-side of the record; "If You Love Me", it stayed for two weeks on the Top 100, it reached #79... Lavern Baker passed away on March 10th, 1997 at the age of 67... R.I.P. Ms. Baker and Mr. Clark...
