Broke the 'black mould'? Is there a 'white mould'? The BRITS must be a serious let down then, because they don't acknowledge British talent like bryn terfel, Catherine Jenkins & Lesley Garrett for breaking the 'white mould'?

When I watch this I think what a huge let-down the MOBO Awards has been by ignoring the groundbreaking achievements of homegrown talents like Siffre, Joan Armatrading and Linda Lewis who back in the day broke the Black Mould by being more Folk than Pop,Soul and Funk. Time to scrap MOBO and its glitzy ghettoisation. Music is its own origin.

Melissa, In the Air? I'll add my two cents. Always felt he was channeling Yes in this song, very Jon Anderson-esque. JMO, still, great song

Indeed. There are no original chord progressions anyway. But when known chord progressions are combined with unique melodies, there is a world of infinite possibilities.

When I first heard the intro to this song, "Something In the Air" by Thunderclap Newman came to mind.

Same here. Brilliant record, can't believe I never knew it until it was on Tony Blackburn a while back.
