With reference to the comment below about the song 'Butcher's Boy',Natalie sang it live yesterday (18/05/14) in London with Kronos (string) Quartet as part of the Nonesuch Records 50th Anniversary concert.Despite the fact that she messed up the first verse (she seemed a bit nervous) and started it again,it was wonderful. She also sang a traditional American song but I can't remember the title (it was a soldier going off to war-type song, but not 'Soldier O Soldier').This was the first time that I had seen her sing live despite being a fan since 1989,and I had a round trip of 450 miles for two songs-but it was worth it.The other artists were very good, especially Rhiannon Giddens (from the Carolina Chocolate Drops)-amazing voice. On the subject of videos that have disappeared, about two years ago I came across a video of Natalie singing 'Planctus' (ancient Latin text) with Philip Glass on piano. It is on one of his albums ('Metamorphosis',I think). It was filmed in a cathedral or church, and although the song is still on Youtube, despite searching for it several times,I can't find the video.Anybody else seen it-as I am wondering now whether I imagined it?

did you happen to get the songs "butcher's boy" or "good old way" (missionary's daughter) from natalie's site when they were up? i adored those tracks but then they disappeared forever...

@GVbrave Certainly. The original version as sung by the Andalusian group Raya Real is much more happy. Here in Mexico we often sing this song in Christmas time. Greetings from sunny Mexico.

Awesome song, but what's up with the weird popping sounds near the beginning? Surely those are not meant to be part of the track.

@flyby7a at first doesn't sound like it, I thought it was portugese, but then it turns out she's actually singing a very old spanish carol (I'm spanish)

@MrArtudtoo This song and music video was a Christmas gift from Natalie to her fans, and was available on her website a couple of years ago. I've created my copy directly from that site- I have not seen/heard it since on the site.

The singer in this song, while she has a beautiful voice, does not sound quite like Natalie to me. If it's really Natalie where did you find this? I cannot find it on any of her albums.

I am trying to find anything on Natalie with the Chieftains... Lowlands of Holland. I wanted to share it with my husband. About to purchase the album, though. This is amazing. Just heard one with Tracy Chapman also... Beautiful. I miss her so much. I'm delighted to know she's returning!
