Belew, Fripp, Levin and Bruford. --- Man oh man, when I first heard "Discipline" and then "Three of a Perfect Pair" later, whew! --- my outlook on music changed. It sounded like 4 people playing completely different songs all within one song and it was all cohesive. In 1980 it was Yes "Drama" and 1981 it was Rush "Moving Pictures" and King Crimson "Discipline". Good times, good times...

Thanks for posting this vid!!. ..long time Crimson fan here. The first Crimson tour I attended was the Starless and Bible Black tour of the Larks ~ Red era, truly profound experience for an impressionable teenager. I've attended Crimson concerts since that time and Imhop, Crimson is unique in that they *thoroughly wreck* "the best line up" idiom ascribable to any or all other bands. Also, no other band has received accolades for great innovation specific to a particular decade, three decades in a row. While my favorite line up may be the Larks ~ Red era, saying that era is "their best line up" would be ignorant of their innovations in music in the 1960s, 1980s, and 1990s lol.
