Heard the demo for Taming a few years back and thought it was interesting... but have rediscovered it and am devouring all of Kevin's music. What an amazing composer and musician - fricking brilliant!! Wish he could have lived and created more - it would have blown so many more minds.

Supposedly Genesis heard his prog 94 tape of the Lamb and decided to interview him. His manager was going to deliver the news when he found him dead.

Having known & worked with Kevin I have found it very difficult to listen to his music in the wake of his passing, even though I listened to him all the time when he was with us. The things that killed him were all treatable conditions and I still feel his loss profoundly as a tragedy that could have been prevented.

@equalibrium56 I'd broadly agree with that, certainly at the stage of Genesis' career at the time. However if Banks and Rutherford took a more collaborative approach, rather than simply imposing their ideas on the next lead singer the results would almost certainly be more interesting than 'Calling All Stations'. Kevin could of took them into a new and interesting direction. But this was never going to be the case with Kevin having to make all the compromises...so yes, a step down

It's kind of a funny story how i came to love this song. I heard it once when i was little. my dad blasted it. all i did was tilt my head and get lost in some void. Then i grew up, took some music classes (theory, performance-based, you name it) then he blasted this song the other day. all i did was tilt my head and lose myself in this excellence. My mind is perpetually blown. haha
