100% sure he's aware of the similarity between his video and the BE video.It's crazy, another singer-songwriter is aware of the work of another singer-songwriter? How is that possible? Is it possible that he loves a certain video by said singer-songwriter and decided to pay homage to it with an ironic twist?no no way, he's just deliberately lifting the idea in the hopes that the internet will be too dumb to notice the similarity. It clearly wasn't a conscious artistic choice on his part, no way.

Love Kevin Devine, love Connor Oberst. Although the video's are very similar, I personally think they have different meanings. 'First day of my life' is more of a celebration of love and being in love and this video seems more of a 'nothing is how it seems' video. Just my opinion :)

I don't really think he's copying. I think he's parodying. Not Bright Eyes, but the concept of the song The First Day of My Life. First Day of My Life says: I want to be with you forever. This says: I could be with someone else, but I want to be with you forever
