NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Era 3080) Out of Hollywood, this version of the often recorded tune, 'Once Upon A Time' is probably one of the most hauntingly, spine-tingling versions that you will ever hear. It was originally issued as the flip side to 'But Not For Me', the follow-up single to Ketty Lester's world-wild smash, 'Love Letters'. While the plug side was arranged as an almost carbon copy of it's hit-making predecessor, 'Once Upon A Time' was sparsely arranged with an almost ethereal feel. Recorded at Hollywood's Gold Star Studios in April 1962, the session was produced and arranged by Howard Adelman, Edward Cobb and Lincoln Mayorga. Along with a string section, the studio musicians included Mayorga on piano, Earl Palmer on drums, Ray Pohlman on bass and Russ Titelman on guitar.

An absolutely beautiful musical performance that is one of those records experienced to it's extreme only while listening in a low, comfortable chair in a dark room with the record changer playing it continuously over and over. The only light in the room is the faint, dim, warm glow of the control panel on the hi-fi.
