This is a beautiful song written by Ron Block of Alison Krauss' band Union Station, a song that gets to the heart of why God sent His Son Jesus to Earth. We may naturally wonder what the reason was, but the Bible spells it out pretty plainly in Matthew 1:21 - to save us from our sins. That "the reason for it all".
This version of the song is sung by Karen Lynne, an award-winning country/bluegrass artist from Australia. Karen and I have become internet buddies, and she asked me to make a video for this song. I had already made a video for Alison Krauss' version of the song, but I have on other occasions made videos for two different renditions of a song, so I agreed. This one has somewhat of a different style than the other one.
If I weren't such a huge Alison Krauss fan I would state that Karen's rendition is equally as good as Alison's. But that would be blasphemy; my mind is already convinced that no one will ever match Alison's angelic voice, but Karen comes very close. Thank you, Karen.
