@iammadedeath Well, I still go to a few shows in Cleveland, I don't see the things you are talking about.. I remember when there was alot more violence, but I don't see how that is inherantly wrong. I don't know how you can tell people you know about where they live, and the people that go to shows there, without first hand experience, in regards to a city or a country. I would say, you sound overly opinionated and racist towards US nationals, that's without looking to hard.

@n1GibsonGuitarist Yes, and Judge is relatively bigger than most bands that exist, since most are obscure. It's all about copyright.. However, perhaps you'd get away with "The Judge", talk to a lawyer.. not youtube people.

No. Secondly, to make a counter point, I would say, don't ever lable yourself with any group that you may have common beliefs/attributes/identity with, such as Democrats, Libertarians, Republicans, Athiests, Christians, Muslims, Communists, professional associations, non-profit organizations, internet petitions, etc. You should start a label free movement, oh crap, once its a movement, it will have a name, and a label... Damnit..

@iammadedeath Straight Edge for me was always a personal choice, no matter how other people acted and/or whatnot.. The assholes in the edge scene tend to fade away, sellout over time.. As you say, assholes are everywhere, doesn't let me turn off to something I like. Of course, I'm just an old man with a job, who shows up to his friends shows a few times a year, and talks with people about old days.. lol..

@iammadedeath What? Are you talking about modern hardcore? Because where I live the scene has no homophobia violence or misogyny. I've never seen "Straight edge violence" Everyone I know is pretty opened minded about it. That shit only happens in Reno, where people listen to xAFBx

@ekimusman2 It was the idea of proactively denying the use of self destructive substances in a movement that had become densely infested by heavy drug abuse. Straight edge was never about violence, it was about being active in response to facing life and living it to the fullest in clear conscious. It doesn't have much relevance now (neither does punk), but when it was new it was very influencing. Sucks that such great movements have now been reduced to fucking labels. fools need to recognize.

hell yeah. Buffalo has one of the best hardcore scenes in the state, and probably on the whole east coast. Just look up Dead Hearts, Get Back up and Sounds of Goodbye to get a taste of our music.
