just try to break your strings ;) Jonny uses a pretty stiff pick (tortex 1.14) and does mainly upstrokes very hard and close to the bridge with the bridge pickup on to get that sound. His vibrato is also fast wide and aggressive. Maybe this can help you a bit :)
