Released in May 1958 on a single with "Junior Prom" on the other side, but neither side charted in Billboard. Original Billboard review: "Tender ballad is piped well by the chick, but flip appears more likely." The picture comes from the Billboard ad for the single. Written by Stillman and Weisman.

The strange thing is, the session was a stereo session but no label was yet issuing stereo singles (they had just begun releasing stereo albums) so the single was mono. Joni herself placed the stereo master on one of her C.D.s decades later. This was the single right before "There Goes My Heart" and her totally successful segue into rockaballads. This also was the last session David Terry orchestrated and conducted for Joni, with Chuck Sagle (who worked on Joni's earliest records as Lew Douglas' protege) arranging and Tony Acquaviva, Joni's manager and husband, conducting, which made a dramatic difference in the sound of her records. And I think her singing. When he started conducted she really sang out.

The session was done in stereo but released in mono. The original plan was to have this side be "You Win Again," which Joni had just recorded in Chicago with Lew Douglas. At that session was his protege Chuck Sagle and on the session following this one he moved in the arranger's seat with his brilliant charts for "There Goes My Heart," a million seller and start of a new rockaballad era for Joni James. Joni worked wonders with "Coming From You" against David Terry's wonderful arrangement.

Never heard this one before. Probably didn't chart because Rock'n'Roll was taking over and songs like this were falling out of favor. Still I'd rather hear something like this than most of what was topping the charts in '58! Sounds pretty typical of Joni, and I like her sound in general.
