One of Johnnie's finest tracks from my personal favourite album; wanted one soul singer.

Anybody ever heard the great Freddy King do this tune? This is a great Isaac Hayes/David Porter composition, so emblematic of the great Stax sound. And Johnny Taylor-I can't even put my feelings into words.Stax recorded some of The Greatest R&Blues Of All Time-Sam&Dave, Albert King, Johnny Taylor. In the pantheon w/Giants like Little Milton, Little Johnny Taylor. Great Music!!! I grew up on this; used to hear it down in SC, from WLAC Nashville or Gallatin, Tenn w/DJ John Richburg late at night. There were Giants in those days!

I was a young air statione at Altus AFB in oklahoma in 1965. This was popular in the wine and beer joints. Booker t. is sure tickling those 88's and Al jackson on those drums is innimitable.

I think Isaac Hayes was on the piano on this album.

I've myself never been a huge fan of Marvin. It's not really my kind of style, i like the raw and old soul music more than the sweet songs of Marvin. Good singer though, but Johnnie and Sam are the best ever. As for a woman Dinah Washington is my favorite.

I love Marvin Gaye with much respect. He was good with the smooth love songs, and JT sang the blues about that very love. If the mid west ain't understanding the blues, you just keep rocking it and try to turn someone on to what they missing. Peace

Mr Johnnie Taylor is kold on the mic. Marvin Gaye is my favorite singer of all time but JT is chasing him down. There will never be a voice like this again. I have to agree with my old school realtives this is real music. Most music now a days has no real soul behind it. Johnnie sounds better in person than on the record. In the mid west the Blues don't get no love like in the South. Its a Dayum shame!!!!!
