A very succinct and powerful track from Lennon's 'Sometime In New York City' album.

Perhaps the greatest prophet of the west after Jesus H Christ; Jesus I am sure loves John for his views; Jesus was a radical too. A true humanist with flaws and warts and all; aren't we all?

An interesting song to put to pictures.Interesting comments.  Anything can be twisted one way or another if you feel strongly enough about it.

John Lennon was a communist supporter of terrorism and murder. He was a champaign socialist. He was English to the core being born and bred in Liverpool, Just another trendy radical.

Ridiculo song penned to get in on the act and look like the musicians were "cool" when in fact they were champagne socialists lining their own pockets out of the misery of this event

Another great song ruined by Yoko. I had to turn it off. I could not stand to listen to her.

Boy that reminds me strongly of Fatah and Hamas rhetoric in Palestine.  Drive the English settlers into the sea? They're not even English.  Most of the Protestant Ulsterites are descendants of Scots and Welsh, the other avowedly Celtic peoples of the Isles.  Nor are they a minority within the six counties of Ulster, but the majority of the people living there.I cannot say this sits well with me.

Suspect this one's not popular with Orangemen either.

Correct me if I am wrong here... this album by The Beatles was banned in the U.K. then.... Very democratic indeed ...

no 1should have died over NI because of cowards in no 10 bigot bullies in Stormont this is what we got. you are fixated onIRA as the greatest evil, you are good are cherry picking dates an timelines, you don't seem to recognize law of cause an effect. the IRA came out of the event depicted in this lennon song,it took a lot to create the ira but no10 managed it.before BS they were ordinary lads, after there was no doubt what came next, every normal person is apalled at the idea of kids dying

you think in the face of the UVF/PARAS/SAS/MI5 that the Irish are going to get anywhere by saying please give us equality in our own country. i abhor all violence as much as you do, but it was imported to us, then its out of control and it escalates very rapidly with no holds barred .I repeat the IRA were created in 10 downing street, I would contest that they ever got close to the horrific depravity orgy of killing of the UVF/PARAS. of course ira killings were wrong all the killing was wrong

the bombings made me sick, i believe 100% warnings were ignored or deliberately botched up do you believe their would have been a peace process without attacks on Brit.i totally share your pacifist sympathies(but it it was a luxury we could not afford), you haven't lived your life in N.I,an experienced daily discrimination.i wouldn't or did not participate in supporting a bombing strategy, but others will point out it was the issue that brought the peace process about, sickening as that maybe

an shankill butchers are classic examples o that. but the callousness of the upper elite politicos who know what they set in motion then go sit in their fancy clubs n decry the evil IRA are just not real.to compare to those pedophile pricks is weird to say the least. you know what we all hate violence as much as you do ,but if the choice is to live without democracy in our own country then there is always going to be violence, right now we peace an long may it reign but still no real democracy
