Folk group Chad Mitchell Trio, after Chad was replaced by John Denver, sang their hit song "John Birch Society" in 1968. It's a topical satire.
It was written by Michael Brown, a Broadway composer. Michael also composed another Chad Mitchell Trio hit, "Lizzie Borden".
