This song by Joe South says so much about my life and many ways the world was turning. It says so much I wouldn't know to begin. But what a powerful song and Joe did it so well. Thank you Joe. I started to hear your music in the late 60's and I like many of your songs. Thanks for a lovely and great song. Carle Wells!

Excellent song writer and recorded some great stuff. Brings back great memories of days gone by and good times and a few bad.

Let's not ever forget the words and/or the man who wrote them.

Go to " Johnny Cash Children" and hear how wonderful this song was with Johnny Cashs version. Always loved Joe South and Johnny Cash took this song to the next level.

I haven't heard this song in over 40 years. Am I glad to take this time to listen to this extra-rare hit from the late-60s/early-70s time frame.

I played Joe's music on radio stations all over the Southeast. To me, his best songs were always this one and Billy Joe Royal's The Greatest Love. Oh, did we push his Birds of a Feather when Joe finally started recording again himself in late 1967! I doubt there was a person in radio then who did not appreciate the Lowery sound and Joe's abilities! RIP, Joe!
