Well, I'll be damned. Here comes your Ghost again over an internet connection. Landlines almost long gone, your song to me Lives On. Still, nothing's for Free. Your words come now at the Cost of Feelings long thought buried... feelings worth Diamonds, Years acting like Rust. Oxidation in the Air that I breath. No Living without breathing... and so I move on. Thank you...

A very nice Song. really enjoyed. ty for the upload. I came across it, whilst listening to Judas Priest's Version. Which up unto now is the only version, that I have ever heard. I love Judas Priest's Version.

Belle chanson d'amour De Baez A Dylan ♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥♪♥Traduction Diamonds And Rust Des Diamants et de la Rouille_ Well I'll be damned _Je sais que je suis condamnée_ Here comes your ghost again _Car ton fantôme est revenu me hanter_ But that's not unusual _Mais je pouvais m'y attendre_ It's just that the moon is full _Car la Lune est pleine ce soir_ And you happened to call _Et tu as décidé d'appeler_ And here I sit _Et me voici assise_ Hand on the telephone _Avec une main posée sur le téléphone_ Hearing a voice I'd known _J'entends encore cette voix qui m'était familière_ A couple of light years ago _Il y a une éternité de cela_ Heading straight for a fall _De tout manière ça n'aurait jamais marché_ As I remember your eyes _Dans mes souvenirs tes yeux_ Were bluer than robin's eggs _Étaient aussi bleus que des œufs de rouge-gorge_ My poetry was lousy you said _Tu disais toujours que la poésie n'était pas mon fort_ Where are you calling from ? _Et maintenant voilà que tu m'appelles_ A booth in the midwest __ D'une cabine téléphonique du Midwest __ Ten years ago _Il y a dix ans de ça_ I bought you some cufflinks _Je t'avais acheté des boutons de manchette_ You brought me something _Toi tu viens de me ramener quelque chose_ We both know what memories can bring _Mais toi et moi nous savons que tout ce que les souvenirs apportent_ They bring diamonds and rust _C'est des diamants et de la rouille_ Well you burst on the scene _Sur scène le feu sacré brûlait en toi_ Already a legend _Tu étais une légende_ The unwashed phenomenon _Un phénomène incorruptible_ The original vagabond _Un authentique vagabond_ You strayed into my arms _Qui s'est perdu dans mes bras_ And there you stayed _Et tu y es resté_ Temporarily lost at sea _Comme si tu n'avais nulle part où aller_ The Madonna was yours for free _La grande dame t'était acquise_ Yes the girl on the half-shell _Et la jeune fille un peu prude_ Would keep you unharmed _T'empêchais de te faire du mal_ Now I see you standing _Je te revois encore_ With brown leaves falling around _Des feuilles mortes tourbillonnant autour de toi_ And snow in your hair _Et de la neige tombant sur tes cheveux_ Now you're smiling out the window _Je te revois encore sourire de derrière la fenêtre_ Of that crummy hotel _De ce petit hôtel_ Over Washington Square _Avec vue sur Washington Square_ Our breath comes out white clouds _Les petits nuages blancs qui ponctuent nos souffles_ Mingles and hangs in the air _S'entrelacent un instant avant de disparaître_ Speaking strictly for me _Et semblent me rappeler_ We both could have died then and there _Qu'à cette époque nous aurions pu mourir_ Now you're telling me _Alors comme ça tu prétends_ You're not nostalgic _Ne pas être nostalgique_ Then give me another word for it _Dans ce cas donne-moi un mot pour dire ce que je ressens_ You who are so good with words _Toi qui était si doué avec les mots_ And at keeping things vague _Et avec l'incertitude_ Because I need some of that vagueness now _Car à présent j'ai besoin de cette incertitude_ It's all come back too clearly _Tout devient bien trop clair à mon goût_ Yes I loved you dearly _C'est vrai que je t'ai aimé de tout mon coeur_ And if you're offering me diamonds and rust _Et si tu veux m'offrir des diamants et de la rouille_ I've already paid _Sache que je les ai déjà payé

Senza illusioni.Eppure, sempre con amore

I think this is the best version, but the Judas Priest acoustic version actually topped this. Both are great IMO

I think it is her very best original piece, with the possible exception of Love Song to A Stranger. Bob Dylan was by far the most consistently creative music writer and poet, but she had her wonderful creative moments and that voice, oh my God that soulful voice! The two collaborating together were pure genius.
