Just simply gorgeous. I'm wondering , was this arranged by Paul Weston ? And, do we know who accompanied Jo on this ? Was it The Starlighters ? Wolfsky9

The Great Jo Stafford! A acquaintance recently said that I lived in the past. Who wouldn't with music like this - music with melody and Lyrics that one can understand? Born in '38 and not ashamed that I still love music like this.

The song was composed by Jewish Canadian composer, Ruth Lowe in 1939. Its most successful version was recorded by Tommy Dorsey and Frank Sinatra to whom it was proposed. Frank Sinatra was eternally grateful to Ruth Lowe for having helped launch his singing career in a big way. The version stayed at number one on Billboard Magazine for 3 months.

I 'm a great Jo Stafford fan but there was more to her than the romantic ballads. Have you heard her oeuvres as "Darlene Edwards" (with Paul Weston as "Jonathon Edwards")? Absolutely hilarious!

Music can stir memories and emotions. It does that to me too. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the song and for leaving such a heart felt comment. Jim

I heard this music all the time with Mom and Dad, veteran of France and Germany. When I hear I can still see them dancing and still very much in Love. Miss it terribly.

It's music pure and simple, I love to listen to it myself, must music now a days is trash, my favorite female country artist will always be Patsy Cline.

Is this a self reference to "If I Ever Love Again"? There are many similarities in both the music and the lyrics.
