Someone To Die For by Jimmy Gnecco with Brian May on guitar. Released on the Spiderman 2 soundtrack in 2004. Words by Alain Johannes, Natasha Shneider and Chris Cornell. Music by Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider.

Lyrics:

Before you ended

I had a will but didn't know what it could do

You were abandonned

And still you're handing out what you don't wanna lose

You make me drop things

Like all the plans I had for a life without you

Someone to die for

Someone to fall into when the world goes dark

Someone to die for

Someone to tear a hole in this endless night

Someone

Like you

I'm drunk when sober

The room is spinning you are what I hold onto

You're taking over

I find that giving in is the best I can do

Someone to die for

Someone to fall into when the world goes dark

Someone to die for

Someone to tear a hole in this endless night

Someone

Like you

Someone to die for

Someone to die for

Someone to die

Someone

Someone

Someone to die for

Someone to fall into when the world goes dark

Someone to die for

Someone to tear a hole in this endless night

Someone

Like you

Idk, its hard to say, but i think a baritone voice suits better this type of song.

I was 11-12 yrs old when I bought this soundtrack and I have always thought the guitar solo was badass. Now, I'm more pleased than ever to know that the guitarist who played this solo is indeed THE Brian May of the greatest rock band of all time.

Both versions of this song are great! Cornell's was no more than a demo, it could have been even better than it was. But, this Gnecco/ May version is amazing in it's own right. Love both, please!

Yes Chris Cornells version with the ORIGINAL writers of this song, Alain Johannes and the late Natasha Schneider formerly of Eleven and touring members with QOTSA blows this version out of the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris got screwed last minute and then they brought this bum Gnecco in. Brian May is the only draw to this song. Sorry people

Holy CRAP! I didn't know this song had the people behind Queen (May), Soundgarden/Audioslave (Cornell), and Queens of the Stone Age behind it (Johannes & Shneider). No wonder I thought this song was amazing since I first picked up this soundtrack when I was a kid!

I love his first album,it's a masterpiece, but you can't compare U2 and them, they both have a very specific way of singing, and are unique and beautiful in their own way.I gladly say I enjoy both, and I am very happy they both exist, enlightening my life more.

I think the title should read: "Brian May (with Jimmy Gnecco)"

I know, right? I heard the soundtrack years ago, have recently been on a Queen streak, and when I connected that this was *the* Brian May, my mind was BLOWN.

I didn't know Brian did this... now I feel stupid, because it's dead obvious.

to me this song just screams Queen. I thought it should have been in the movie had Gwen been in it.

to "compare" this to Cornell's orig is stupid. Both are critically acclaimed musicians with very different styles. In this case, which version is better is entirely subjective. When i hear music i alone give it meaning. like where i was when i first heard it, how it made me feel, what ideas came to mind when listening. So in this case to say one is "better" than another is fundamentally arrogant, which I totally am. Jimmy Gnecco rocks this version rules! <3 u Jimmy!!!!
