On this day in 1971 {July 3rd} Jerry Reed performed "Ko-Ko Joe"" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand... Two months later on September 4th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #51 and spent 6 weeks in the Top 100... It reached #3 on the Canadian Country Tracks chart and #11 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... Sadly; Jerry Reed passed away on September 1st, 2008 at the age of 71... R.I.P.
