i do indeed deserve ridicule, i looked further in to this band and yes, the vocalist deserves all the props in the world after what he went through, and i admire the fuck out of him now, i still stand by how i can't detect the passion in his vocals, he sounds like he's trying to do some "technique" to me, if that makes sense, but if i'd known what he went through before i listened to this band for the first time, i wouldn't have said a damn thing

i love the music, trust me, i'm in to all of the real screamo stuff, orchid, saetia, ampere, i hate myself, and all of that jazz, but this particular band, i find them very difficult to get in to, and as out of character of me as it is, it's because of the vocals, i get that other screamo bands at times have vocals that sound like that, namely portraits of past, funeral diner, saetia, etc.. but i can seamlessly detect the passion in those bands' vocals. this band i can not.
