Hard to believe Tate Stevens beat out more talented artists like Jennel. Just goes to prove that these singing competitions are ruled by millions of teenage girls that have no true musical taste. I think Demi just was the wrong mentor for Jennel. Even after letting her through she changed her entire look. She made Jennel sing more popular rock songs instead of the indie vibe she had going for a while, and she had her change her whole stage presence along with it.By the time Jennel was eliminated, she hardly resembled the girls she was when she first audition.The mentors are supposed to take what they've got, and improve on it, not change it completely. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".This is exactly what happened with Jennel.And Demi pointing out the hair thing as a nervous habit. Wouldn't it only make someone more nervous to tell them what they're doing wrong and then be cold about it? It wasn't that Jennel couldn't take criticism, it was just that at this point she had no idea if she was even in, so anything Demi said would make her nervous. The mentors shouldn't just be there to provide harsh criticism the viewers and critics can do that themselves the mentors should be a positive support system throughout the competition to help build up the singers' self-esteem.After all, if all celebrities weren't a little over-confident then every bad comment/review would destroy them.
