Tacky '80s production values, but a great song. Grace Slick's voice was at its peak here.

Grace's voice lifts this far above the usual 80s cheez.

This is my favorite tune by the Starship, and I could hear it everyday even though I really prefer harder rock. The vocals by Grace and Mick & the searing lead guitar really are exquisite. The beast is on the prowl.

Grace Slick was hoottie, back in the day.

Grace Slick is from a very elite wealthy family. That's why she was invited to the Whitehouse and got away with trying to dose Nixon on LSD. Anyone else would have been locked up and publicly flogged.

I remember around this time these guys got lumped in with the satanic panic in music.Easy to see why with these new agey vids and Grace always had a startling presence that used to freak me out when I was a kid. Of course until We Built This City.

I haven't seen this video in years...but it brings back a funny memory. When i was about 14, a friend and I had a major crush on Craig. This friend of ours got so angry, he thought we were "trash" for liking a "Mexican" guy "who was probably here illegally". Think he (with his geek haircut, pimple face and inability to sing or play any instrument) might have been jealous? LMAO now thinking about it.

On this day in 1983 {March 19th} Jefferson Starship performed "Winds of Change" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand’...At the time the record was in its first of two weeks at #38 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, and that would also be its peak position on the Top 100...On the same 'Bandstand' show they also performed "Jane"; three years earlier on January 13th, 1980 it had peaked at #14 on the Top 100...And exactly nine years earlier to the ‘Bandstand’ appearance on March 19th, 1974 the group appeared in concert {in Chicago} for the first time under their new name of Jefferson Starship...

I started playing guitar 25 years ago because of Craig Chaquico. The man can rock. He is forgotten in the rock culture of the 80's like the Association were in the rock culture of the 60's. I've seen him 6 times in concert (never with Mick and Slick) and he can solo with the best of them. What's awesome about THIS video is the two part harmony in the guitar solos. While it may sound wacko to compare the Starship to King Diamond, they were exploring the same avenues mixing classical harmony with distorted hard rock, at the same time. All fogotten now, thanks to that Cobain fag.
