Forgot what a helluva voice Grace has, and why someone once described her as a "ferocious contralto"!

I grew up with this music. I remember cruzing around Philly back in the the early 70 and having a great time. I wore out the cassette that I had of this album. Love it

Back when Gracie still had it together. Chaquico (Red Octopus, Dragonfly, Earth...) and to a lesser extentPapa John Creach breathed enthused new life into this "wornout" band. PJC was there for the earlier Kantner/Slick sessions/collabs, too. (Baron, Thirty Secs, Sunfighter etc)

Her vocals are too buried in the mix.

Now the real "Fast Buck Freddies" can pay Grace Slick for a command performance of that song.

The chorus on this song is so powerful it's not even funny. The entire song is awesome but I get the chills when I hear the chorus not because of he lyrics but because of the melody.

I am in no way trying to insult, but never heard this song before and I know that Grace is long before these ladies I am about to speak of, but this song sounds a lot like a few Heart songs of the 70s and I like it!!!! It is awesome!!

This LP was a huge seller in 1975. Octopus gave this Jefferson Starship reincarnation of the 60's band Jefferson Airplane a huge popularity it had never known before. This and the previous LP, Dragon Fly, were the high points of their Jefferson Starship era in my opinion as they preceded to become commercialized Journey type impersonators on some of those last LP's which were terrible. They even dropped the Jefferson part of the name and became simply The Starship on those last couple of lame LP's.

Grace Slick at her best -- backed by old man Papa John Creech who was just the right ingriedient to re-fire up this band's sound. Excellent song. This was actually an excellent era for this band -- Spitfire also has many wonderful tunes & great performances. It's too bad they deflated into "We Built This City" -- which Paul Kanter himself seemed to think was below their standards. I think by that time the Starship became controlled by the corporation -- and they were merely players.
