Jeff Porcaro (I think) was the best drummer of all times. He was absolutely un'beat'able in Steely Dan. And then came TOTO, wow!

This was released in Modern Drummer as a vinyl 45-RPM tear-out. Periodically these were placed in the magazine for readers as product demos or as lessons in the "Sound Supplement" series. It included recordings/lessons from Peart, Erskine, Morgentein, Weckl. Paiste offered product demos from Bruford, C. Thompson, and Porcaro. Jeff's Paiste set-up in this recording is: 2002 19"Medium 602 16" Paperthin 602 Medium Ride 2002 20" Heavy Crash Rude 14" HH's w/sizzles on the bottom cymbal

This is a Paiste product demo released in an issue of Modern Drummer magazine. What you're hearing is "Slipping Away (part-II) by David Paich recorded on the 20th of December, 1983 at the Villa... with of course the one and only Jeff Parcaro.

Jeff had such a cool grove! It's little wonder he was so good, his father Joe Porcaro is a great drummer also. I have 2 of Joe's books: Drumset Method & Groovin' with the ODD TIMES. They are both excellent.

Jeff - playing direct from the heart. Groovemaster. Adding a symphonic dimension to the rockband Toto.

The cymbals sound great and really fit this type of music. By the way, "Paiste" means "sunshine" in estonian and finnish. The guy that founded the company was Toomas Paiste. Some trivia for those who didn't know :)
