Im gonna see him in may, 2014. I cant wait, but I do feel that he doesnt sing how he used to. Looking back at old footage its clear that he doesnt have the passion he once did. But what do you expect after years of the same material. I dont think he will release new material now, thats why I advise everyone to see this guy if possible. It wont be long before he take another long 'break'.

I like to imagine that he realized his appearance is a little off putting, so he does it to freak people out. For the lolz, most likely.

It must get tiring playing the same 2 albums worth of songs.

I went to see Steven Wilson perform live in early March. I met him in the Love Music Record Store in Glasgow, and he was really friendly and relaxed, but on stage he was like a fucking demon. Running around, flailing his arms, making all kinds of hand gestures, headbanging, and that stare. Dude was in an altered state.

I think he's just thinking. All I know is when I'm in deep thought I look pissed off, but really am just thinking a lot. He's probably a million miles away in space with a foot still on the earth. Yeh blah blah stupid comment yeah

"I'm sure he felt just as passionate about this song during his bajillion performance of it in comparison to the the first few times" He even said himself that he's long grown past the "mental prison" of ITAOTS - Naomi was written even before that. I imagine that it's like driving to work in the morning... you do it so often that you don't even remember the commute once you're there.

You do know all his songs are dark, sad, and full of despair right? To think the original singer is covering himself is so idiotic. I think he knows and feels these songs more than you or I so how he plays it at any time is how it should be played

I don't think Naomi was ever meant to be sung very passionately...

I was at the the same show in lawrence! he was incredibly into it. We were a pretty badass audience though :D

I saw Jeff in concert last weekend and he had a lot of emotion and seemed very passionate. Everyone started stomping to the beat of Ghost when he played it and he threw his guitar across the stage, while still singing, and got a new one. It was p cool Except he looked like a hobo

nah that's just how he looks. kinda like how neil young always looks pissed too. Belive me, if he didn't want to be there, he's still be in hiatus.

Don't worry guys, that's just how he looks. There's a vid of him playing Itaots in 1997 and he still looks like he wants to kill the audience.

Call me selfish but this is why I'd rather not see Jeff live nowadays. He isn't the same person as he was back then and he lacks the passion from the time in his life when he wrote these songs. I'm happy people are willing to support him (as he deserves to live well), but I feel like I'm watching a cover...
