Just as good to hear this 54 years later as it was back then...beautiful.

Caprice records had a variety of good artist like James Ray , Janie Grant and the Angels. Headed by Gerry Granahan. The label company only lasted three years, with lasting memories to most. 1960 - 63.

I was 13 yrs old when this was playing. Everyone was getting into cars & surf, but I secretly had a crush on this girls voice and the song.

My source was The New York Music Radio Survey Site. It has all the WABC surveys from 1960-82, WMGM from 1956-62, plus all WMCA surveys from 1962-70. It only has selected WMCA surveys from 1957-61, not including May '61 when "Triangle" charted. WLS Chicago info is from oldiesloon. "Triangle" did well in LA also, peaking #9, 5/26/61 on KRLA, #10, 5/27/61 on KFWB. LA info also from oldiesloon.

My source of information only includes regional chart info only if it didn't chart on Billboard nationally OR it hit #1 in one or more regional areas as well as charting on Billboard.

"Triangle" debuted on WLS Chicago in late April, 1961. It peaked at #5 on June 3 and remained there into early July before dropping. "Triangle" was a huge hit in Chicago, but didn't do nearly as well in New York. It charted for only about two weeks each on WMGM and WABC. I have no info as to how "Triangle" did on WMCA and WINS. It probably wasn't much different. I discovered this song when Norm N Nite played it on his Sirius/XM show. A beautiful lost chestnut!

To Tom Smith...thank you so much for the post. My older sister bought this new, I rifled it from her and still have the 45 in my collection. Loved it then and love it now. SerenaBay

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info. I was told by what I thought was a reliable source that Janie was Gogi's daughter.I see now that they are not related. I still like the songs they both sang.

The above photo was taken from a teen magazine that showed her performing at "Jilly's Teenage Night Club" In Somerville,N.J. Wonder whatever became of "Jilly's"! It's the first photo that I ever saw of Janie....too bad it didn't come out too great in the magazine.
