Too fast, but to her defence there are bad Brazilian versions that are ruined for me too because they are too fast. The only good one to me is Elis and Tom duet taking turns. almost all other versions hurry and ruin it. Basia one was bad too.

Anyone complaining about her not understanding what she sings has obviously never tried to sing this. It is absolutely impossible to sing all these words without really giving them a looooooot of thought and effort to understand and memorize them. Haven't you noticed that most of the other singers have text written at live performances, even Jobim himself??? Unless of course you can do it better in which case we would really like your upload. :-)

I don't see how this is bad. Is it the way she was acting? Because I could care less about that, she actually sang this really well so i just don't understand how this is "god awful".

Singers today cant and dont hold a candle to the great American singers of the past like Sinatra, Doris Day, Mel Torme ect, they all knew how to carry a song, to sell it, and the songwriters were the greatest on this planet, Antonia Carlos Jobim was among many South American writers decades ago, who knew their craft the same as the Americans.
