you know its a great song, a real song when it brings tears to your eyes. my dad busted his ass to give me and my sibling everything we have. he worked long hard physical days working for and running his small landscaping business, and now i realize those Saturdays he took me to work it was in part just so we could spend time together. i might only be 21 now but thats perfect so i can have many more days to thank him.

My dad is insanely hard to buy for. So for his Christmas present, I got 4 quarters, put them in a pouch, and put some sticky notes with a message on each one and gave it to him, hoping he'd understand the reference. My mom understood, explained it to my dad and he hugged me. Every time I hear this song, I think back to (my dad worked a lot when I was little, but I remember this moment vividly) when I was 8, and he was leaving for California for 3 months and I begged him not to go and he said, "If I don't go, I might get fired." So yeah, this song gets me teary eyed every time. But I love it. And I'm glad he loved his present.

This song hits close to home...first heard this song today on the way to work. My husband doesn't care enough and actually refuses to spend any time with our son and it hurts to see the sadness on my son's face. The song mde me cry.

Believe me,it tears the heart of of real Dads who leave their families to work instead of watching the kids grow up and missing so much of it so they can have the things they need to grow up with.

This song reminds me so much of my life. My little boys are 18 months and 6 months. I'm a conductor on the railroad and I leave whenever the phone rings and am always gone at least a day. I miss them so much when I'm gone

Reminds me of when I was younger.Whenever my dad was "too busy" to come get me for a weekend, I would grab some change and ask mom how much time it would buy me.Now it just brings tears to listen to this song, because I know no amount of money will be enough for him to spend time with his daughter...
