He wrote this song when he was still a teenager suffering from drug induced depression. It was written along with Fire and Rain while he was in a halfway house or psych ward or whatever it was. you can feel his desperation. I'm sure glad he got better. He's still one in a million.9 years ago

I was home from Vietnam in November of 1970 and by April 1971 I was working for JAL at LAX and had a terrific apartment in Redondo Beach, California. I was home from that living hell, alive, catching up with life and living large. I remember, well, buying this album and falling in love with the music of James.
