Drummer Jimmy 'FUCKING' Fox!! He's the JAMES in the James Gang. He started the band in the mid-60s. They went through a ton of player changes, but the first incarnation I remember seeing was Jimmy Fox, Tom Kriss, Glen Schwartz, Joe Walsh and a KB player whose name escapes me.The Wiki page is wrong as I clearly remember Glen Schwartz and Joe Walsh onstage together. Joe played rhythm. Schwartz was a monster in those days. He moved to SF and formed Pacific, Gas and Electric.Jimmy Fox was CLEARLY the best drummer in the Cleveland rock scene in those days as evidenced by this live recording.

Is it me or is he saying "you just turn your pompous head and walk away"...that sounds correct even tho the common lyric sheets say "purpose head"

Back in the day, the original James Gang played a lot in the Cleveland area.... just another local band working towards their big break, and we played the same stage numerous times at the Hullabaloo Club, but that was before they had Walsh. The original lead guitar was Glenn Schwartz, and he excellent, probably better than Joe, but life happens, members change.
