I used to own a live bootleg of this from around 1989, with just Tim singing, and it was literally the most incredible thing I've ever heard. I search all over the Internet all the time, trying to find it...someone out there must have it. If you have, please help a fellow James obsessive! This version is great too, of course...

just getting into this band, finally after all these years...I know this song because the band UNREST covered it in the 90s, and I know What's The World because of The Smiths. Now I know I've been missing out!

Add a touch of mystique where the writing gets weak Break up coherence with a cut-cut-cut up technique When you've got nothing to say Shut up Or show that you're willing to play With words that simply aren't out of touch With the genuine feelings which lead to their birth Most things are better not written or heard When you open your mouth, out drops a turd The only way I learn is put the fist in and get burned.

The original Sit Down was good with Edward Barton screaming "Lester Pigott" over the end.

I thought this was the greatest song ever written back in the eighties. Felt like James was a secret i was in on until Sit Down. Was never the same after that. tH
