On James Blake's latest album, the various sides to his musical personality blend together into a pretty uniform set of tracks that combine detailed electronica, chorus-based songwriting, piano, and Blake's sharp voice.

What did you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why? What should I review next, eh?

Great review Anthony! Totally agree about RZA. Also agree abou the solo voice/piano songs. However, I have to mention about "Voyeur": I heard James on the radio say that he made that song specifically to play at his 1-800-Dinosaur club nights that he puts on in London. So, basically that track is supposed to be a straight up house banger specifically made for a dance club setting. Its's definitely a bit drawn-out like you mentioned but I could see it working really well in a dark, sweaty, dance club.

I think what Anthony gets wrong here is that it wasn't supposed to be as experimental. It was supposed to be more approachable while still carrying that very soulful James Blake feel.

I think a 7 is kind off low for this album. But I don't really know how you really rate actually since I hardly watched I've only seen 7's in your reviews so far all on albums I'd give an 7,5-8,5 :"). Also Retrograde is my favourite track on the album, and you said it goes fully RnB on that track but as far as I know it's just really dull and poppy, did I miss something in that genre?
