Love Jack's music. Had a blind date with him. He sang all night, and I didn't like him because he wouldn't let me sing. Regret not keeping up on him. He was good!

Look on Goggle and there is information there on Pete Cassell. If he is a US citizen then he will be found on the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940 census. Go to your nearest Family History Library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints they will help you.

I heard this years ago but it was by Pete Cassell a blind singer who recorded for the Majestic label in the mid '40s.He did a very nice job on it.He billed himself on the record as "The Blind Minstrel".From what I've researched of him,he died sometime in the 1950s in his 40s.No one seems to know anything of him or the record I had of him doing this song.Ray Price sang a different set of lyrics to it when he recorded it for Columbia.

I'm a whole lot dissapointed in the news media for not informing us about Jack's death! Perhaps they did...most likely my fault for not watching the depressing news. I was to one of his concerts in the 60's and he put on one hell of a show. RIP Jack. Sing em pretty for the angels!

Bobby, you can probably get in touch with Jack if you contact the musician's union here in Nashville or write him a letter in care of the Opry.

Simple into by the steel guitarist but also brilliant. Jack was in a sports store in the Rivergate are today 21 Dec 12. I wanted to tell him how much I liked this song but he outmanuvered me. He didn't look as old as I had expected.

Jack is my dad's first cousin and I would just like to say hello and let him know my dad passed away in 1990. I guess they knew each other as youngsters. Thanks
