Bruce the Singer, coupled with Bruce the Virtuoso Bassist, often overshadows Bruce the Composer... and that shouldn't be.

Does anyone know how I can find his June 30, 2011 Lugano Estival performance? Any info will be greatly appreciated! :-)

Great song and brilliant vocals. IMO he had one of the greatest rock voices. Check out "Politician" on Live Cream Vol11. Thanks for this post

@krsongs i got lucky and found it on ebay. All those songs are great, I just used those 3 as examples. Check ebay regularily and you might find a copy. I had to pay about $30 for mine... but it was well worth it.

@microdot Check out Business men...Bruce and John McGlaughlin power trio on Escalator. The Jazz Composers Orchestra had some stunning stuff in their catalog. Mantlers imaginary movie soundtracks with Larry Coryell There was a huge multi record set that featured an incredible Coryell feedback solo as part of an orchestral piece by Mantler.... Edward Gorey pieces set to music featuring Terje Rypdal and Robert Wyatt....

The guitarist was Steve Hunter, and this was AFTER he and Wagner played with Lou Reed.

Listen to that frickin' bass!! So bitey and growly and funky and groovy. AND, this dude was singing at the same time, that's hard to do. Lovin' Jack Bruce...

One of my favorite alltime records! The guitarist, Wagner from the Detroit band, The Frost before he went on to play with Lou Reed... Jack Bruce could really do it...wide screen technicolor rock that walked the line with an experimental avant edge... Does any one have the Jazz Composers Orchestra stuff? Escalator Over the Hill with Carla Bley? No Answer with Michael Mantler? That is a Samuel Beckett piece set to music with Jack Bruce just on vocals!
