i still could be a bit slower ., he is an excellent player but often he plays too fast . one wonders could playing fast have been possible in bach's time with the heavier mechanical action. some of the first modern neo baroque organs built in the 70's and 80's had an action far too light . in my Church . collegiale de Nassogne an organ by Thomas of belgium. i asked them to make the action a little heavier as it was far too light, so light that the pallets were bouncing and vibrating the sound. much better now.

yes this time he played this one at a good speed and not a breakneck speed that i once heard him play this. i think when bach is played too fast it looses something

The way Ton Koopman plays/interpretes Bach is just awesome. I truly admire him.

2:58--lol he's been waiting to scratch that itch in his beard all this time. thus his intensity.

Koopman plays as though incapable of connecting notes.Means no wonderful phrasing and articulation contrasting with unbroken lines.Love the long trill at 2:17!Now I'll have to play this to erase what I heard.

TON KOOPMAN PLAYS J.S.BACH " LITTLE FUGUE " IN G MINOR.He is a Dutch conductor, organist and harpsichordist specializing in Baroque music. He comes to Cleveland,Ohio every year to conduct the Cleveland Orchestra in an all Baroque program. He is really great.

definately too fast, not compared to anything, but considering the music. We don't know how fast it should be, because no one knows exactly how they played in Bach's time. Some even say that Bach didn't hear some of his work performed properly, because there were no players who could play it. Just never play so fast that you don't hear any music anymore, just notes..

Too fast compared with what? Certainly not with tempos in Bach's time.
