This song was in the Extreme Skiing movie "FETISH". I would totaly listen to it while catching some hospital air of the Mainline Pocket at Squaw.

Ah I love this song, takes me back to Rock City in the mid 90's, good times and good circle pits.

Considering before the style change they were touring with the likes of Limp Bizkit and Korn they could've easily been a decent tier nu-metal band and been a Family Values Tour regular. I actually found Floored in a £1 shop a few months back and decided to take a gamble cos I don't like their post-change stuff but heard their heavier stuff was decent.

I love all Sugar Ray, tbh. I only just started listening to ska and funk rock, and I had no idea they were considered funk metal when they started out. I grew up on Sugar Ray and stuff, and now that I know about this old stuff, I think I'm actually gonna be a huge fan.

The first time I saw Sugar Ray, they played mean machine and iron mic from this album. So many people had a confused look on their face. The second time I saw them, they played mean machine and they also did a Ramones cover.

Fly was written by Stan. The other guys really didn't want to put the song on the album because it did not go with their style. I use to see so many copies of floored in the used section at record stores. I guess everyone thought all of their stuff was like fly and found out they were wrong when they bought the album. I love both their pop and rock stuff. I think they did both styles well.

I heard them when they only had the one record. I found them because this very song was on a couple compilations. I even smiled at people who were buying their kids "floored" because of "fly." I don't know. I don't begrudge them their choice to make more money, but I don't get the whole "nobody would have heard of them" thing. I've never seen the need for the bands you like to go platinum, or the desire to get that pop hit so everyone buys the "legit" music. It usually backfires.

I feel like they were so close to becoming a good nu metal band if they refined their mix of hip-hop, punk and metal influences but alas they went for the short term success.

They should gone also noise rock, or in some country/garage rock hybrid, they could evolve in many directions but they have chosen worst
