We won the battle of the bands with this song and we were 14-15 at the time facing against 20-26 year old veteran musicians. We won of course and I played this lead on my 59 Gibson SG Special.

Ur right Hendrix Paul/Clive era was pretty good they didnt kicked out of band cuz of lack of musical talent paul never had a day sober and clive quit himself if these wouldnt happen i dont think we will ever know Bruce or Nicko

The blaze era is a hard one to call guys & I will tell you why, I knew some of the people around blaze his manager & his accountant (strange but true) & went along to his blood & Belief album release, When he joined Maiden they only had a set time to do the next 2 albums they ended up putting loads of work into the x factor & were left with very little time for the 2nd album he did with them, he also had problems with remembering the words & Steve is supper professional & would not put up with it. But he never had a chance to get close to Bruce as most don't. He did hate Maiden for a while after the split but as I understand it he now feels Maiden are better off with Bruce. And I agree Bruce is the best singer ever in Maiden & to be fair I think he may be the best metal singer of all time for me.

Well I think we can all agree upon that the Paul/Clive era was nothing short of awesome same with the Bruce/Nikko era. The only problem Iron Maiden would of had is that Paul was a drug addict and alcoholic and Clive had MS. This means that there would have been an inevitable break-up any way.

I absolutely love what Paul did with Maiden but Bruce is my favorite of the 2! Having said that,I do prefer to hear Paul sing the songs from his 2 albums over Bruce's versions, for the most part. For me,ALL Maiden from 1980 to 1989 reigns supreme!
