This sometimes results in a merger of the two stars..." - Wikipedia (Forgive me for the unacademic source.) Essentially, the action described by the word inspiral is two worlds colliding. I wonder if the connection between the line "two worlds collide" and the name Inspiral Carpets is more than a coincidence. The pseudo-space station setting used in this video only further validates this idea.
