Lyrics:

Wretched is my lot here, mirthless is my fate

Alone to face the cruel winters, endure the dreary cold

What is there to hope for, what is there to seek

For this forsaken child, for this forlorn son

Whose sins am I now atoning for?

Whose lapses am I forced to undo?

So echoes my tune through these darkling shaws

Above the frozen streams resounds my song

Only these sullen trees will hearken to me

Only snow-bound hills ever hear my call

What is there to hope for, what is there to seek

For this forsaken child, for this forlorn son

For this embittered man, for this grim castaway

Solace I find in the light of the pale moon

My comfort in the night the murmur of the trees

Now I set forth without ever glancing back

It is time to make my own way through the dusk

It was the first song which I heard from Insomnium, like 3 years ago. Today I'm a big fan of them and I still think that they make best music in whole world. \m/

I referred to most recent rapings. Soviets took Estonia to themselves. Corrupted it with communist shit. Estonia is seen as eastern european country because of this. If things had gone better for them in WW2, maybe Eesti would be a nordic country as well

We killed the haters and replaced em with our love of death metal.

Estonians were more raped by the Teutonic Knights and Swedes than they were by Slavs. Sure, there are a lot of Russians in Estonia, but they're still separate from Estonians, and there hasnt been nearly as much influence from Russian in the Estonian language. Most of the foreign influence on the Estonian language is from German

"It is time to make my own way through the dusk" Could they have ended the song better than this? I dare to think not. I mean everytime I hear it, it makes me goosebumb. It's so epic and the songs outro is just pure genius and beauty. Insomnium is my favorite band of all time. No doubt in my mind.

not historically really, ethnically we are the same however. they speak the closest language to ours and share the same finnic culture. They are our brothers, brothers raped by slavs.

After putting this song up over 4 years ago, it's awesome to see so many likes and so few dislikes on this great song. Still listen to it everyday. Keep supporting Insomnium!

However, Finland does'nt quite like us, Sweden, hehe... I can understand why, though. But some people can look pass the history and the fact that they most learn swedish in school which for some reason bothers alot of finish people...

Indeed, and another example to prove that is "The Killjoy".
